KSOU Admission 2026: The online admission process has already commenced at karnataka state open university for the current academic year 2026. Students can register for various UG / PG Degree programmes, PG Certificate, UG Diploma & certificate programmes courses available in ODL mode. The admission process and payment of the application fee of INR 880/- will be done online only. KSOU admission last date is expected to be 15 February 2026. About University: Karnataka State Open University is the only open university offering distance education in the state. It is accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade. KSOU was established in 1996. All the programs offered are UGC-DEB-approved. Students can pursue any UG, PG, diploma, and certificate courses at various levels with various specialisations. It has 28 academic departments and has 6 schools of study.

The application form of KSOU has already been released for the 2026 admission session. The last date to register will be as per UGC (DEB) directions. However, expected to end on 15 February 2026. Applicants have to create their ABC ID through digilocker account and their DEB ID through the DEB portal. Students can register either online or through the respective regional centres. Admission is only through online mode with payment of the registration fee, which is INR 880/-. Selection of the applicant will be based on their educational qualification, which requires a 10+2 pass and a bachelor’s degree. 

Physical verification of the document will be done in the regional center, and admission will be confirmed only after receiving approval from the university. Learners will receive their study Material and Identification Card at the time of verification only.  It is advisable to read the course prospectus and check out the latest updates before proceeding. 

Karnataka State Open University Course List 

Programs offered by the Karnataka State Open University include 8 undergraduate, 7 postgraduate, 13 PG certificate, 8 diploma, and 4 certificate courses in ODL mode. All these programs are approved by the UGC. The list of courses offered is given below: 

KSOU UG Admission 2026

Registration for UG courses such as BA, BCOM, BSC, BCA, BSW, etc., is now open in online mode for the academic year 2026. These courses are offered in open and distance learning mode over 3 years and 6 semesters. Non-CBCS courses like BA and BCOM will be available in annual mode, while the rest of the courses will be offered in semester mode. English and Kannada will be the main medium of instruction.

To become eligible for admission, students must have passed their 12th standard examination in any stream from a reputed board. Applicants will have to make an online payment for their course, which is around INR 9,240/- to  INR 14,190/-. It is mandatory to follow the admission guidelines for successful completion of the admission process.

KSOU PG Admission 2026

KSOU has begun its admission process for the 2026 academic year for PG programs such as MBA, MCA, MSW, MSC, MCOM, MA, etc. PG programs are available for a course period of 2 years and 4 semesters, though students can complete their course within a maximum duration of 4 years. All the programs are offered in ODL mode with English and Kannada as the main medium.

Applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in a related field can apply to the desired course by filling out the application form online. The course fee will be around INR 11,660/- to  INR 32,890/- for the first year. KSOU may conduct an entrance test for some courses depending on the course requirements.  All PG programs are provided under choice based credit system, except for the MA Sanskrit program.

Eligibility Criteria for KSOU Admission 2026 

Undergraduate degree course 

• Applicants who have completed their pre-university examination (10+2) or equivalent are eligible for admission. 
• Also, students from other boards who have completed their 10+2 or 11+1 or Higher Secondary Examination can also apply. 
• Anyone with pre-university vocational courses in a relevant subject is also eligible.  
• Must have proficiency in English and Kannada. 

Postgraduate degree course

• Students who have passed their degree examination or equivalent from a recognised university can apply. 
• For the MBA program, applicants will have to appear for the Knowledge Assessment Test conducted by the university. 
• Students must show fluency in English and Kannada except for language courses. 
• There is no upper age limit. 

How Apply for KSOU Admission 2026 

Filling out the application form at KSOU will be held online only, and as per UGC guidelines, it is mandatory to create an ABC ID and a DEB ID. New Applicant can Follow The Steps Given Below:

• Go to the university website https://www.ksoumysuru.ac.in/. 
• Click on the admission portal http://ksouportal.com/Views/ApplicantLogin.aspx.
• First, register with a valid email ID and phone number. 
• Create a username and a password, and log in with the credential 
• fill-out correct details, and select the nearest regional center. 
• Select the Learner Support Centre for the PCP purpose. 
• upload required self-attested scanned documents
• Pay the application fee online through net banking, credit, or debit card.
• Submit the admission form and proceed with verification and approval of the document. 
• After the confirmation mail or sms is received, download the application form. 
• Candidates can collect roll numbers, study material, and ID cards.
• Keep a printout of the final application form for future reference.

• Marks cards of S.S.L.C
• Marks cards of P.U.C. or its equivalent

KSOU Fee Structure 2026

Karnataka State Open University courses’ fees are budget-friendly and payable annually. It ranges from INR 7,040/- to INR 39,270/-. All the fees are to be paid online only.
