About University: National Sanskrit University is a central university established in 1961. National Sanskrit University Distance Education Admission 2026
Admission will start soon for all the ODL programs offered by the National Sanskrit University Distance Education for the academic session 2026. Programs include Shastri, BA, and Acharya, with various specialisations, including certificate and diploma courses. Interested applicants can apply on the official page of the university. The last day to apply for any UG or PG course is 10th february 2026*. Universities may reject incomplete applications or those received after the due date. The application fee will be INR 700/- per course.
Students must hold basic eligibility criteria, such as a 10+2 passed in any stream for the UG program and a bachelor’s degree in any related field for the PG program. Preference will be given to students who qualify for any examination recognised by the university. The course fee ranges between INR 4,000/- to INR 12,000/- annually, depending on the program. National Sanskrit University Distance Education UG Admission
National Sanskrit University distance education will soon initiate its online registration process for all the undergraduate courses for the 2026 session. Students can apply for UG courses such as Shastri Honours in Sahitya, vyakarana and BA Honours in Sanskrit. All the honour programmes are offered for a minimum duration of 4 years and a maximum duration of 8 years. All students must be at least 17 years old as of 1st August of the year of admission. The medium of instruction for traditional courses will be Sanskrit and English for modern courses.
Admission will be given to only 5 eligible applicants, along with payment of a yearly fee of INR 5000/-. To be eligible for admission, students have to qualify for any recognised examination, such as Prak-Shastri, Uttara Madhyama, Upa Shastri, Sahitya of Karnataka State, OR Intermediate, NIOS (XII), or equivalent examination.
National Sanskrit University Distance Education PG Admission
The online registration portal of national sanskrit university distance education will open soon for postgraduate degree courses for the 2026 session. PG courses include Acharya in Sahitya, Dharmasastra, Puranetihasa, and Phalita Jyotisha. They are offered in ODL mode for a minimum period of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years.
Admission will be given to applicants who have a 3-year bachelor’s degree or a Shastri in the respective courses or have Sanskrit as a second language at the graduate level. The minimum upper age limit is at least 20 years old as on 1st August of the year of Admission. The medium of instruction will be either English or Sanskrit. National Sanskrit University distance education will select only 5 eligible applicants for each program. Applicants will have to pay an annual course fee of INR 7,000/-.
National Sanskrit University Distance Education Eligibility Criteria
Students with the following qualifications are eligible to apply to any Sanskrit program offered by the CDOE of national sanskrit university.
Undergraduate
- Students must have completed their 10+2 examination in any stream.
- They must have qualified any recognised examination as per university requirements.
- Applicants must be at least above the age of 17 years old.
- Students must show proficiency in English and Sanskrit as they will be used for instruction and examination.
Postgraduate
- Students must be above the age of 20 years old.
- Must have graduated with a 3-year bachelor’s degree course or Shastri in any related field or equivalent examination from recognized universities.
- Applicants must have studied or chosen Sanskrit as their second language at the graduate level.
- Fluency in Sanskrit and English language as they will be used for instruction and examination.

Applicants have to apply for admission online only through the SAMARTH PORTAL. Registration will start soon from national sanskrit university distance education for the 2026 session. Applicants will have to submit the form before the last date, which is 10th February 2026*.
