IPU Distance Education Admission 2026 | Courses, Eligibility & Fee

IPU Distance Education: Online registration is going to start soon at the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for the academic cycle 2026-27. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs through regular mode. The candidates are advised to complete the application form before the expected deadline of 15 March 2026*. To be eligible for enrollment in the desired program, students must meet the basic eligibility criteria. Admission is based on both merit and marks scored in an entrance examination.

Students seeking admission have to clear state-level and national-level examinations. CUET-UG/PG and CET (Common Entrance Test) are the entrance examinations accepted by the university. Submission of online applications for admission will be done on the GGSIPU’s official website @ipu.ac.in.

Note: According to the UGC-DEB guidelines, IPU does not offer distance learning programs for the academic year 2026-27.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, formerly known as Indraprastha University (IPU), is the first university founded in 1998 by the Government of NCT of Delhi. This is a government university and is situated in Dwarka, Delhi. GGSIPU is recognized by UGC, ACU, and AIU.  NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has accredited an A++ grade. IPU Distance Education Admission Process 2026

Enrollments will soon start at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University through distance education for the academic year 2026-27. Students who want to be admitted to the university must complete the application form while visiting the GGSIPU’s website. Moreover, students are advised to go through the admission prospectus available on the website. One has to deposit an application fee of INR 1500 using the different payment modes available. 

PG diploma in Business Analytics: Any Graduate degree with 45-50% marks, including subjects like Data Mining, Business Intelligence, and Predictive Modeling. Its duration is 1 year, and the total fee is approximately Rs 40,000.

IPU Entrance Exam

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers multiple specialized programs like Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD through regular mode. Students can apply for any particular program once they meet the eligibility criteria. Once the candidates meet the eligibility criteria, they can register for the respective entrance exam. IPU accepts several state and national-level entrance tests. Some of them are CUET-UG/PG, CLAT, and CET (Common Entrance Test). One needs to clear the cut-off of the particular entrance exam. IPU UG Admission 2026

The undergraduate program offered by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University distance education lasts for 3 years, divided into 6 semesters. The maximum duration required to complete the specific course is 5 years. BA LLB, B Arch, BDS, Bio-Technology, BTech, BSc, and others are the courses offered with specializations in Packaging Technology, Journalism & Mass Communication, Medical Imaging Technology, Radiotherapy, etc. The university has introduced some of the new programs, including BSc (BEd), BCom (BEd), BA (JMC), BPT, BBA, etc. 

Students who have completed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply for UG courses. Admission is offered through NLT, CET, and CUET entrance examinations. Candidates must ensure that the last date to apply for admission at GGSIPU. The registration fee is INR 1500, and the academic fee for the UG level course is INR 2000 to INR 132000.  

 IPU PG Admission 2026

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University provides various postgraduate courses for distance education, such as MA, MBA, MCA, MTech, LLM, and MSc. These courses cover a range of specializations, including Robotics, Urban Design, Fire and Industrial Safety, Bioinformatics, Homeopathy, and others. The duration of these postgraduate courses is typically 2 years with 4 semesters. 

The eligibility for the PG academic course is to pass undergraduate courses with a minimum aggregate mark of 60% in a relevant discipline. 15 March 2026* was the deadline declared by the GGSIPU for granting admission. The selection of any chosen course is based on the marks scored in the GATE, CET, or any other exam. To register, students have to pay an application fee of INR 1500. The complete tuition fee for the various PG-level courses is INR 25000 to INR 217000. 

IPU PhD Admission 2026

Applicants are invited to take admission to PhD programs in the following specializations like Information Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Applications, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence- Data Science, Artificial Intelligence- Machine Learning, etc. PhD programs usually last for 3 years. 

Students seeking admission to Ph.D. programs shall have completed a master’s degree program with at least 55% marks. Admission to PhD program shall be granted through a Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) conducted by IPU. Additionally, candidates who have qualified other entrance exams like UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR, NET, GATE and CEED are also eligible to apply for admission to this university. The fee for PhD course at IPU starts from Rs 57,000.

IPU Distance Education Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates are advised to check the prospectus carefully before applying for a desired program at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of the marks obtained by them in an entrance exam. Some of the entrance tests accepted by IPU are CUET-UG/PG and CET (Common Entrance Test). • All applicants have to pass a higher secondary examination while applying for any undergraduate degree course. 
• In addition, all applicants must appear in the appropriate entrance exam.

Q1: Is 75% attendance compulsory in IPU?

Ans: Yes, students must have a minimum of 75% attendance in all subjects to appear in an examination.
