Admissions are currently live at their admission portal, those who are interested must apply before the last date. It is expected that the admission window will be closed on 15 March 2026*. The university takes direct admission without conducting any entrance test. Students can seek admission with their previous academic grades. About University: Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) was established in 2005. It is a State Open University, located in Guwahati, Assam. The university is  recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC) and the Distance Education Bureau (UGC). KKHSOU provides several undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programs in different disciplines. Its programs are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

KKHSOU is now accepting applications for the January 2026 session. Currently, it offers numerous Bachelor’s, Master’s Degrees, diploma and certificate programs in Open and Distance Learning mode. Students who have passed their 12th grade are eligible to apply for UG courses. For PG programs, applicants need to hold a Bachelor’s degree with 40% marks. Entrance exams are usually not required at the university, but for the MA program, the university conducts its own admission test.  To apply at the KKHSOU, students need to fill out the application form, submit the documents and have to pay the fee.

KKHSOU UG Admission 2026 

Registrations for undergraduate (UG) programs at Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) has started for the 2026 January session. It offers courses like B.A, B.Com, BCA, BBA, and BLISc at the UG level. The duration of UG courses is a minimum of 4 years, which is divided into 8 semesters. To pursue the UG programs, students need to complete their higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent from a certified board.  Students are required to secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). An approx fee range goes between INR 3,880 to INR 5,500 per semester. 

KKHSOU PG Admission 2026 

Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University is now accepting applications for all its ODL PG programs. Those who have completed their graduation with 50% marks from a recognised university are eligible to apply. It provides M.A, M.Com, MCA, MBA, and MSW at the UG level in a duration of 2 years. However, the university takes direct admission to all PG courses, but for the MA Yoga, applicants need to clear an entrance test, which is conducted by KKHSOU. SC/ST/PwD candidates will be given 5% relaxation in marks. INR 6,150 to INR 16,500 is the average fee range of PG courses. The fee range totally depends on the specialisation.

How to Apply for KKHSOU Admission 2026?  

KKHSOU has opened their registration window for the January 2026 session.  Those who wish to take admission can now register. Before applying at the portal, make sure you have created your ABC ID and DEB ID. Reading all the instructions carefully before filling out the application form is always advisable. Follow the steps to fill out the registration form. 

Step.1 Go to the KKHSOU official admission portal.

Step.2 Choose the preferred program name and click on the “Apply Now” tab. 

Step.3 Enter your DEB ID and Click on “Log in”.  

Step.4 Now use your user name and password to sign in at the portal. 

Step.5 Enter your personal, educational, contact and other required information to fill out the application form. 

Step.6 Attach the scanned copy of necessary documents including scanned signature and photographs. 

Step.7 Carefully check the filled details & documents before submitting the form. 

Step.8 Pay the online application fee using net banking, UPI, debit card and credit card. 

Step.9 After verifying the details and documents the university will send you a confirmation mail.
