Panjab University Distance Education: The University offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, advanced diploma, and certificate programs. Panjab University is going to commence the admission process from 15 March 2026 for all distance learning programs. The deadline to submit the admission application form will be 15 April 2026* at @cdoe.puchd.ac.in. Panjab University Distance Education have various popular courses like BA, BCom, BLIS, BED, MA, MBA, MCom, in various specialisations which students can choose for their career. About Panjab University Distance Education

Panjab University is a public state university established in 1882. Centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Panjab University, previously known as USOL (University School of Open Learning), started its journey in 1971. The degree programs (UG and PG) offered by CDOE are recognised by UGC-DEB, and all certificate and diploma courses are approved by statutory bodies like AIU, ACU, and IAU. Panjab University Distance Education UG Admission 2026

Students can choose different undergraduate specialised courses at Panjab University through distance education mode. For the session 2026-27, the university offers BEd, BCom, BLISc, BA in Public Administration, Political Science, History, Mathematics, and Statistics. The duration to complete the bachelor’s program is 3 years with 6 semesters. 

If students want to join any undergraduate program, they need to pass a 10+2 examination or an equivalent from a reputed university. INR 1050 needs to be paid by those candidates who wish to register themselves for admission. The academic fees of all undergraduate academic level programs are INR 3800 to INR 26000.

PU Distance BCom Admission 2026

A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is an undergraduate program offered through distance mode at Panjab University. The duration to complete an undergraduate degree in commerce is 3 years. The examination is offered through a semester-based pattern. 

A basic eligibility criterion for admission to the BCom course is to pass a 10+2 examination in the following subjects, like Accountancy, Economics, Humanities, etc, securing at least 40% marks in the aggregate. BCom course fee structure ranges from INR 4800 to 14100.

Students who want to take admission in Panjab University Distance Education must meet all the basic admission criteria and can apply for admission to any selected course. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in any relevant subject from a recognised university or institution with more than 50% score are eligible to enrol at Panjab University. The University offers many PG-level courses such as MA in Economics, History, Hindi, Punjabi, and Sociology, MBA, and MCom. The duration to complete any postgraduate course at PU is 2 years, divided into 4 semesters.  

The registration fee of INR 1050 is required to be paid at the time of enrollment. The tuition fees for postgraduate courses at Displaced Education range from INR 5,500 to 38,000. The university has begun accepting applications for all postgraduate programs, and the application deadline is for the 2026-27 academic year.

PU Distance Education Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates must meet all the basic requirements to be admitted to their chosen course at Panjab University. Students shall remember that they can only enrol in one course at a time. Admission to distance education is based entirely on merit. Here are some important points to keep in mind when applying for your course:

• One can seek admission to any UG-level program if he/she has passed a higher secondary exam with a passing percentage of 45% from an authorised board. 
• Those who hold a bachelor’s degree in any specialisation with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply for PG programs. 
• Panjab University does not set any upper age restriction for admission to UG and PG courses. 
• BA Distance: Candidates must have passed 12th grade with 45% marks at a recognised board (State, CBSE and Government board).
• MBA Distance: You need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university(Relaxations are provided for ST/SC/disability)

Admissions for the academic session 2026-27 at Panjab University Distance Education will start soon. Students who meet all the basic admission criteria can apply for admission to any desired course. A candidate who wants to enrol in any UG or PG program has to follow some of the simple steps, which are given below: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of Panjab University using your preferred search engine.

Step 2: Create an account by registering with your email address, valid ID Proof, name of the applicant, and phone number to generate a login ID and password.

Step 3: Log in with your applicant ID and password. 

Step 4: Read all instructions thoroughly before filling out an application form.

Step 5: Provide your personal information along with details of your previous education in an application.

Step 6: Upload scanned copies of required documents, including mark sheets and identity proof. 

Step 7: Make sure that the documents attached are in the specified size as per the guidelines.

Step 8: Pay an application fee through several payment methods, such as debit/credit card, net banking, NEFT, or UPI.

Step 9: Before submitting, carefully review your form. 

Step 10: Now, click on the “Submit Button”.

Panjab University Distance Education ABC ID

As per the NEP (National Education Policy) 2020 guidelines, the ABC ID is a national-level facility to promote flexibility of students, providing easy credit transfer. An ABC ID can be created in DigiLocker using various methods, including the web portal, mobile app, and the simplest method, QR code scanning. The step-by-step procedure for students to create their ABC ID is given below, which students need to follow: 

Step 1: Visit the DigiLocker Portal using any web browser. 

Step 2: Click on the “Sign in” button on the top corner. If you are a new user, then click on the “Sign up” button. 

Step 3: Fill in all the required information as asked and set a six-digit login PIN

for additional security 

Step 4: Now, click on the submit button. 

Step 5: Enter the OTP that was sent to the registered mobile and hit the “Submit” button again. 

Step 6: A new account will be created. 

Step 7: Once done, sign in to the Digilocker account by entering the registered credentials. 

Step 8: Enter the registered mobile number, followed by the security PIN. 

Step 9: Now, enter the OTP and click on the Submit Button
