About Yashwantrao Chavan Open University
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established in 1989. It is the fifth open university in the country and is recognised by the UGC and Section 12(B). The University is also accredited by NAAC with an A grade. It is located in the Gangapur Dam near Nashik city. It offers higher education at an affordable cost with ICT support for Learning. YCMOU is a member of AIU, AAOU, ACU, and ICDE. YCMOU Admission 2026 is open from 20 January 2026 for several UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses. The last date to submit the application form for admission in the January academic session set by YCMOU is 15 February 2026. YCMOU Registration process for the January session will be held online. YCMOU UG Admission 2026
Admission is open on 20 January 2026 at YCMOU for all the undergraduate programs for the 2026 session. Registrations are open for UG courses like BSC, BA. B.Lib.I.sc.(1 year), BCOM, BCA, B.B.A. (AHTM) in various specializations. UG programs are available in ODL mode for the course period of 3 years and 6 semesters. The maximum course period is 6 years. To qualify for admission, students must pass their 10+2 examination in any subject from the Maharashtra or other state HSC Board.
Students who have done a preparatory course or certificate program with a minimum 40% mark or any other government-recognized certificate or diploma program of 2 years can apply. English will be the only medium of instruction. YCMOU course fee for UG program is around INR 1600/- to INR 43,278/- per year.

YCMOU PG Admission 2026
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) is conducting online admission for postgraduate degrees for the 2026 academic session. PG programs include MCOM, MBA, MCA, MSC, M. Lib. & I.Sc (1 year), and MA in various specialisations. Their programs are run for a minimum duration of 2 years with 4 semesters and a maximum duration of 4 years.
Successful completion of any bachelor’s degree is important for admission to any PG program. YCMOU uses English as the only medium for instruction and examination. For the MBA program, students must have scored at least 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) and appear for the common entrance test conducted by the university. For this, applicants have to pay an entrance exam fee of INR 500/-. YCMOU annual course fee for PG programs ranges from INR 3,600/- to INR 25,100/-.

YCMOU B ED Admission 2026
Admission at YCMOU is open for the BED and BED special education programs for the current 2026 session. Registration will be held online with an application fee of INR 200/-. Both programs are available in open and distance learning mode, for a course period of two years and four semesters. For the BED (ODL) program, only trained service teachers in elementary education, and candidates who have completed their face-to-face NCTE-recognised teacher education program can apply for admission.
For the BED special education program, a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks is required. Also, applicants may need to appear for entrance tests followed by counselling sessions. YCMOU charges bed admission fees for INR 23,380 and the BED special education program fee of INR 22,870/- (first year). YCMOU bed admission last date is expected to be 15 February 2026.

YCMOU Assignment 2026
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) will upload all the assignments online, and students can access them using their 16-digit Permanent Registration Number (PRN). Students must download them and answer them in their own handwriting. Assignments carry a 30% mark per course. After the completion of the assignments, students must create a PDF file for each assignment, within 3MB, and must not exceed 20MB.
Students have to submit handwritten home assignments to the respective Learning Support Centre (LSC) and upload them to the same portal –https://asm.ycmou.org.in/. YCMOU assignment has to be submitted before the given date, as no resubmission will be entertained or accepted. Home assignments are accepted once a year, so students who couldn’t submit can do so after paying the examination fee.
